High Order Spectra Analysis Apply at Non Destructive Evaluation of Civil Engineering Structures
نویسندگان
چکیده
The paper submitted deals with the investigation of failures of engineering structures by means of the Method of higher orders spectra. The reason why Method of higher orders spectra is prospective in future is that unlike other non-destructive methods this one offers a high-quality information on the existence of non-linear processes in material and geometrically complex investigated samples (structures) and thus also the information on the existence and degree of development of particular faults. A timely detection of the level or location of a failure of a structural member or of the entire structure is gaining its importance at present due to the increasing maintenance costing. The application of this method will also offer the source materials about real material and geometrical characteristics of engineering structures in existing numerical models.

Analytical study of seismic durability and its destructive effects on structures and distribution of accelerated seismic durability of Iran
Background and objective: Experience with past earthquakes and numerical analysis confirms that the durability of strong earth motion, significantly can affect the amount of failure of civil engineering systems. However, if the durability is related to a parameter which describes the intensity of the earth's motion, such as maximum velocity or maximum acceleration or spectral acceleration, then...
متن کاملSeismic Fragility Assessment of Special Truss Moment Frames (STMF) Using the Capacity Spectrum Method
Fragility curves represent the probabilities that structural damages, under various levels of seismic excitation, will exceed the specified damage states by means of earthquake intensity damage relations. Conceptual aspects related to seismic vulnerability, damage and risk evaluation are discussed first, together with a short review of the most widely used possibilities for the seismic evaluati...
متن کاملResponse Spectra of Structures under Subway Induced Vibrations
Passing underground trains induce vibrations transmitted to the ground surface and the nearby structures. Ordinarily, these vibrations do not result in structural damage but can harm nonstructural elements and disturb the occupants. These effects are more pronounced when evaluating buildings like hospitals, laboratories, museums, etc., and their assessment is an important design need. To respon...
متن کاملNon-destructive evaluation of the stress levels in prestressed steel strands using accoustoelastic effect
Non destructive monitoring of prestressed civil structures such as bridges, dams, nuclear power plants, etc. is extremely important to ensure security of users and environment. This challenging task brings together the non destructive testing (NDT) and civil engineering (CE) communities. As a part of this relationship, this paper deals with a non destructive procedure for stress levels evaluati...
متن کاملMicrovawe Imaging for Nondestructive Evaluation of Civil Structures
Subsurface imaging of civil structures is a subject of growing interest because of the need check the integrity of buildings, roads, and bridges in a non-invasive (and certainly nondestructive way). In this framework, this study is aimed at presenting a microwave imaging technique for crack or failure detection. The proposed approach is based on a numerically computed Green's function and on an...
